A weekly look at how charities can communicate better with donors through design.

Can your donors also be your biggest fans?

There is no bigger supporter of you or your cause than your fans. Sometimes you know who they are but more often, you may not even know they exist. How do you find them? How do you create them? Are you even bothered to figure out where they hangout and what they are saying about you? I hope so.

Part two to come: Where do you find you fans? How hard is it to find them? What should you do when you do find them?

    Hey John,

Do you not edit the rest of your video post on purpose or was that a mistake?

Either way it was funny but you might want to edit the rest the next time.

  2. Monday's fan says:

Tara, er um…I think those are called outtakes!

  3. Tara says:

Right… outtakes! Thanks Monday’s fan (whoever you are!). Maybe I should change my name too.

  4. John says:

Thanks for your comments Tara and ‘Monday’s Fan’ (that sounds like a compliment!) is right – they are suppose to be there…

    Hi John,

I have not yet looked at the video, but I plan to–I am curious to see the outtakes.

However, before I get to the video, my question is “do you not edit your content?” Please have someone check your spelling and grammar for accuracy and clarity, respectively. I feel certain one of your goals is to project professionalism and promote confidence in your brand.

Hey Becky, thanks for your comment. I plead guilty. I do edit my posts but will be the first to admit, I have a tendency to miss things like saying “then” instead of “than”. Or spelling “because” as “becuase” – I do that all the time. Thanks for the reminder.
